GMKtec launches $3,499 EVO-X2 with 128GB RAM and 1TB SSD
GMKtec has added another EVO-X2 mini PC configuration with 128GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB SSD. The new model costs $3,499 in the United States, which is $150 less than the existing 128GB and 2TB version.
The processor and memory configuration remain unchanged. The system uses AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads and a maximum clock of 5.1 GHz. It also includes Radeon 8060S integrated graphics with 40 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units.
© GMKTec The EVO-X2 uses soldered LPDDR5X-8000 unified memory. The 128GB configuration allows users to assign up to 96GB as graphics memory through the BIOS. This can provide more memory for local AI models and GPU workloads than consumer graphics cards with dedicated GDDR memory.
Only the included SSD capacity has changed. GMKtec equips the new version with a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 drive instead of the 2TB drive supplied with the $3,649 configuration. The system has two M.2 2280 slots and supports up to 16TB of total storage.
The smaller SSD lowers the price by $150, but the 128GB configuration still carries a large memory premium. GMKtec sells the EVO-X2 with 64GB of RAM and the same 1TB storage capacity for $1,999.99. Doubling the soldered memory therefore adds $1,500 to the price.
The new variant is therefore $350 cheaper than the AMD Ryzen AI Halo.
