Intel iGPUs have something of a reputation for being slow to catch up to their Windows performance when running on Linux, and the same was true for the new Arc B390 iGPU that is all the rage with next-gen gaming handhelds, it seems. At least, according to recent Phoronix benchmarks , this seems to be changing with Linux 7.2.

For the most part, CPU performance remained unchanged throughout the benchmarks, but testing in native Linux gaming benchmarks shows improvements of up to 12% in some tests. These performance improvements remained true for both OpenGL and Vulkan rendering workloads, which can be attributed to better support by the Intel Xe Linux kernel driver.
