Battlefield 6 Update Causes NVIDIA RTX 50-Series Driver Crashes—Fix Incoming

On July 21, the Battlefield 6 Season 4 update dropped , adding a host of new content to the game, including: a new map, the return of ranked battle royal gameplay in Redsec, new vehicles, the dynamic wave system for oceanic warfare, and three new weapons in Redsec (the EF88 bullpup assault rifle, the BROD 3 carbine, and the VSSM marksman rifle). However, it seems as though PC players are not having a good time with the latest update, with a number of Reddit threads confirming frequent crashes .

As confirmed by Battlefield Comms on X, an official Battlefield update and developer communication channel, there have been stability issues for desktop players running the game on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs. The issue appears to be limited to maps with large bodies of water, where the game results in GPU driver crashes. Battlefield Studios says it is working with NVIDIA to issue a fix, but advises players to roll back their NVIDIA driver to version 596.49 , a graphics driver version from early May 2026.
