Nearly two weeks after launch, on July 19, the game reached 961,867 concurrent players reported by SteamDB, the highest figure since the game's early access launch in 2024, when it clocked just over 2.1 million concurrent players on SteamDB .

Perhaps thanks to the wealth of new content introduced in the 1.0 release, Palworld seems to have high audience retention, with daily peak concurrent player counts surpassing 800,000. In a recent X post addressing the game's success, Pocketpair's CEO and head of publishing and communications, John Buckley, thanked the player base, saying that the game has been "a surreal and life-changing experience," adding that if he were to guess, that 961,867 figure would be the peak of the 1.0 version's launch, but that he would not consider that a bad outcome.
