Amazon pushes Tomb Raider: Catalyst from 2027 to 2028
Tomb Raider: Catalyst has been delayed from 2027 to 2028. Amazon Games boss Jeffrey Gattis confirmed the new release window during an interview with The Game Business.
Gattis mentioned the game while discussing Amazon’s upcoming AAA releases. He said Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 12 next year, followed by the next game in 2028.
We have announced the two Tomb Raider titles. [Legacy of] Atlantis comes February 12 next year, and then we’ll follow on in 2028 with the next one. We’re excited about those.

Catalyst moves back by one year
Amazon and Crystal Dynamics originally announced Tomb Raider: Catalyst with a 2027 release window at The Game Awards in December 2025. The official Tomb Raider website still lists the game for 2027 at the time of writing, but Gattis’ comments provide a newer schedule.
© Amazon Games Catalyst is a new mainline entry set in Northern India following a mythical cataclysm. Lara Croft will compete with other treasure hunters as they explore newly exposed ruins and search for an ancient source of power. The game is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam.
Two Tomb Raider games now arrive in consecutive years
As we reported when both projects were announced , Catalyst was originally expected one year after Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. The latter is a reimagining of the original 1996 game developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog.
Legacy of Atlantis was previously planned for 2026 but is now scheduled for February 12, 2027. Catalyst will follow in 2028, although Amazon has not provided a specific date or explained the reason for the delay.
