MSI AI Edge returns as PRO MAX EDGE AI+, supports 671B models through four-system clustering
MSI has formally launched the PRO MAX EDGE AI+ 11M, a 4-liter desktop based on AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 300 series. Despite the new name, this is not an entirely new system. MSI first announced the same design as the AI Edge desktop in January .
The original AI Edge announcement already listed a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory , up to 96GB assigned to graphics and a 4-liter chassis. MSI then displayed the system under its PRO MAX EDGE AI+ name at Computex in June. The July announcement appears to mark the commercial launch of the finalized model rather than the introduction of different hardware.

The top configuration uses the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads and Radeon 8060S integrated graphics with 40 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units. The processor also includes an XDNA 2 NPU rated for up to 50 TOPS. MSI quotes up to 126 TOPS when combining the available CPU, GPU and NPU processing resources.
The system has up to 128GB of soldered LPDDR5X-8000 unified memory. Up to 96GB can be assigned to the Radeon 8060S as graphics memory. MSI says this allows the desktop to run models with up to 120 billion parameters locally. Its product page lists GPT-OSS 120B using 65GB of memory and producing an average of 33.29 tokens per second, although MSI does not provide a complete description of the test configuration.
PC supports clustering
Two PRO MAX EDGE AI+ units can run GPT-OSS 120B at INT8 or selected Qwen3 models with up to 235 billion parameters. A four-node configuration is listed as supporting the 671-billion-parameter DeepSeek-V3.1 model using Q4_0 quantization. The company’s launch announcement describes this more generally as support for models with up to 670 billion parameters.
The finalized specifications include two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and 2.5Gb Ethernet. Display outputs include HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a and two 40Gbps USB Type-C ports. The 97.5 × 188.4 × 248.5 mm system weighs 2.9 kg and uses a built-in 300W power supply . Cooling is handled by MSI’s triple-fan Frozr AI Pro design.
