Jensen Huang opens X account with message to US policymakers
Well, we did not see this coming, but Jensen is finally on Twitter/X. You can now tag him whenever we post NVIDIA leaks and see if he can respond with memes.
In the very first post on X, Jensen does not talk about GeForce GPUs or consumer GPUs for that matter, but about open-weight AI models. So yes, his very first post is about AI.
In the the letter argues that US leadership in artificial intelligence will depend on more than developing a single frontier model. Its authors want a wider market where businesses, universities, startups and public institutions can access and adapt advanced AI systems.
Open-weight models allow users to download, inspect, modify and operate the underlying model on their own infrastructure. The letter says this can reduce dependence on individual cloud or model providers while allowing organizations to keep control of their data and deployment environment.
The group also argues that open weights can reduce AI operating costs. Companies can use smaller specialized models for common workloads instead of paying for frontier-scale services for every task. The letter is supported by 25 organizations. Signatories include NVIDIA, Microsoft, Meta, IBM, Dell Technologies, Mistral, Mozilla, Hugging Face, The Linux Foundation, Perplexity and Y Combinator.

It is surprising that Intel and AMD CEOs have had X accounts for years and shared plenty of information, while Jensen Huang stayed away from the platform. His posts are probably managed by a communications team, but perhaps Jensen will surprise us and share something directly.
Either way, NVIDIA users now have someone new to tag when they want to complain about drivers.
