GTA V porting speed run

GTA V is progressing through two unrelated community projects at the same time. SharpEmu is testing the PlayStation 5 version on PC, while developer M0jso is building an unofficial native port for the original Nintendo Switch. Yes, it’s not emulated version for Switch but an actual native port.
GTA V Switch port adds working audio
M0jso’s project runs GTA V locally through the Switch software environment. It is not cloud streaming and it does not emulate another console. The developer identifies the game as version 2699 from 2023, based on the newer PS4, Xbox One and PC Legacy code branch.
The port currently runs on modified original Switch hardware. Previous footage showed frame rates between roughly 11 and 22 FPS, along with broken rendering and frequent crashes. The project remains private and no downloadable build has been announced, but Discord group may be made later.

The work may be based on code derived from the GTA V source leak that appeared in December 2023. Earlier Switch, Android and Linux porting attempts were directly linked to that leaked code.
M0jso also said that work on an Android version would begin once the Switch port is ready. This would be another native ARM port rather than running the Windows release through an x86 compatibility layer. There is no schedule for either version.

SharpEmu runs the PS5 release on PC
SharpEmu is following a separate path by emulating GTA V Enhanced for PlayStation 5 on Windows. Its development build now displays the GTA logo and loading indicators, plays intro and menu audio and remains in the North Yankton sequence for several minutes.
Since the project went open source, new developers started to work together to fix many GTA issues. Most recent changes included AudioOut2 playback, AJM MP3 decoding and fixes for several GPU commands that previously caused crashes. Text, graphics and audio remain incomplete, and the combined test branch was closed without being merged into the main project. GTA V is therefore not playable through SharpEmu yet.
So. Here is the situation with GTA V for SharpEmu.
2 days ago, this game wouldn't start
2 days and many, many fixes later, I managed to get the game to a point where we can start looking at the actual graphics/rendering pipeline.

The two projects now demonstrate GTA V on two unsupported platforms through different methods. M0jso is adapting the older code branch to run natively on Switch hardware, while SharpEmu is recreating the PS5 environment needed by GTA V Enhanced on PC.
PS5 emulation rush before GTA 6 release
One thing is certain: it’s not just PC players that want to experience older games in a new way. I’m not sure how likely Sharpemu is to support GTA6 close to launch in November, but they have several months to polish their emulation. Perhaps they will find a way to run the game before the PC release is even confirmed.
