The only new hardware support in Fwupd 2.1.7 is adding support for the PixArt PJP360 device. The PixArt PJP360 is for the PixArt POCO 103X Touchpad. Updates to the PixArt Fwupd plug-in were necessary for getting this newer touchpad supporting firmware updates. PixArt contributed this support themselves to Fwupd.
Fwupd 2.1.7 also introduces a "well known" AppStream IDs for common BIOS settings, an MTD lock security attribute, support for "externally managed" EFI signature lists, a systemd-pcrlock plug-in and hook up to UEFI updates, and a TCG disk encryption security attribute. More Fwupd plug-ins are also now working when building the software for Android.
Fwupd 2.1.7 also brings many bug fixes ranging from AMD GPU version string handling to allowing suspend-to-RAM with encrypted RAM, and various other fixes scattered throughout the codebase.
