ASRock unveils Radeon RX 9050 with 1024 cores and 8GB/4GB memory options

ASRock unveils Radeon RX 9050 Challenger 8GB, 4GB model also appears in OEM systems

VideoCardz leak confirmed: the first Radeon RX 9050 is here.

ASRock has published the product page for its Radeon RX 9050 Challenger 8GB, confirming AMD’s lowest-tier RDNA 4 desktop graphics card. The company lists an 8GB GDDR6 configuration, while a separate Radeon RX 9050 with 4GB memory has also appeared as an OEM variant.

Radeon RX 9050 has 1024 stream processors

The final specifications differ from the information we published in May. Our earlier data listed 32 compute units and 2048 stream processors, but ASRock now confirms that the RX 9050 has 16 compute units and 1024 stream processors . The clock specifications were correct, including a 1920 MHz game clock and a boost clock of up to 2600 MHz.

This gives the RX 9050 exactly half the compute units of the Radeon RX 9060 XT. Its theoretical FP32 performance is around 5.3 TFLOPS, compared with approximately 12.8 TFLOPS for the RX 9060 XT reference specification. The RX 9050 still supports the RDNA 4 feature set, including third-generation ray-tracing accelerators and second-generation AI accelerators.

Available with 4GB and 8GB memory

ASRock’s Challenger model uses 8GB of GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps through a 128-bit interface. This provides 288 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The 4GB version has also appeared on ASRock page but not all specs and images are loading. It looks like the 4GB model will have a 64-bit memory bus, which basically downgrades bandwidth by half.

The Challenger uses a dual-fan cooler and measures 249 × 132 × 41 mm. It weighs 645 grams and requires one 8-pin power connector. ASRock recommends a 450W power supply. Display outputs include two DisplayPort 2.1a connectors and one HDMI 2.1b port.

We do not yet have the exact board power rating for Radeon RX 9050. However, the recommended power supply is listed at 450W. Radeon RX 9060 XT has a 500W recommended power supply, so RX 9050 appears to target a lower power class.

ASRock warns that the model may not be available worldwide. AMD has not yet confirmed the RX 9050, its specifications, or pricing. A CyberPowerPC system equipped with the 4GB version is listed for under $890. But who would buy 4GB model in 2026?
