Mirror’s Edge DLSS mod may also support other Unreal Engine 3 games
© softsoundd Modder softsoundd has released an NGX passthrough version of the Mirror’s Edge RTX Remix runtime. The branch enables NVIDIA DLSS technologies while retaining the game’s original rasterized graphics.
Unlike the existing RTX Remix project for Mirror’s Edge, this version bypasses the runtime’s standard ray-tracing behavior. It instead passes the original DirectX 9 output through NVIDIA’s NGX framework, allowing the game to use DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA and DLSS Frame Generation.
© softsoundd The demonstration shows the old anti-aliasing mode alongside the NGX implementation, although image sharpness will depend on the selected DLSS preset and output resolution. The mod also generates motion vectors, which DLSS requires but the original game did not provide.

Mirror’s Edge launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2008. The PC version followed in North America on January 13, 2009, with its worldwide retail release scheduled for January 16. The PC version also added NVIDIA PhysX effects.
NVIDIA announced DLSS support for its GeForce RTX platform in September 2018. The technology became available in games such as Battlefield V in February 2019, more than ten years after the console release of Mirror’s Edge.

© softsoundd Softsoundd says the passthrough runtime has also worked with several other Unreal Engine 3 games during limited testing. Full compatibility is not guaranteed, but the branch could provide a foundation for bringing NGX support to more games and other engines. RTX Remix upscaling options from other vendors are also supported.
The v1-NGX package is available through GitHub. Installation requires copying the contents of the RTX_Remix_NGX_Passthrough folder into the game’s Binaries directory. This branch does not add path tracing or replace the original game assets.
