Intel Core i9-14901KE sample matches 14900K with E-cores disabled
© WestmereX A qualification sample of Intel’s unreleased Core i9-14901KE has appeared in a detailed test by Bilibili creator WestmereX. The processor was tested at stock settings, with conventional overclocking and under subzero cooling.
The Core i9-14901KE has eight Performance cores, no Efficient cores and support for 16 threads. Intel listed a 3.8 GHz base clock, a 5.8 GHz boost clock, 36MB of cache and a 125W processor base power. The embedded processor also had an unlocked multiplier, unlike the Core i9-14901E and Core i9-14901TE.
Intel removed the Core i9-14901KE ARK page
Notebookcheck states that the processor never received an ARK page but that is not actually true. Intel listed the chip in July 2024 and we covered the listing at the time using specifications published directly by Intel. The page has since been removed. Taking screenshots has once again been proven useful:

The tested Q49D qualification sample operated at 5.5 GHz across all eight cores during Cinebench R23. It required 1.225V and consumed approximately 190W. Its performance was reportedly close to a standard Core i9-14900K with all 16 E-cores disabled.

© WestmereX An all-core overclock to 5.8 GHz required approximately 1.35V. Power consumption increased to 269W in Cinebench, while CPU-Z single-core performance improved by around 1%. Multi-core and Cinebench results increased by less than 6%, suggesting that Intel did not use a better-binned Raptor Lake die for this model.
The processor reached a stable 7.4 GHz under a cascade cooling system operating at around -100°C. It also completed SuperPI 1M at 6.9 GHz with DDR5-8120 CL30 memory. These results are comparable to other Raptor Lake processors tested under subzero cooling and show no extra frequency advantage from disabling the E-cores.






Intel appears to have dropped the Core i9-14901KE after it reached the qualification-sample stage. There is no confirmed retail release, recommended customer price or system using the processor. The surviving sample confirms that Intel developed an unlocked 8-core Raptor Lake processor for the embedded market before removing it from the current product catalog.
