NVIDIA replaces RTX 5090 with RTX 5080 for GPU giveaways

NVIDIA has revealed a custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition inspired by CONTROL Resonant. The graphics card is part of the third week of the company’s GeForce Summer Nights promotion.

The card uses custom artwork based on Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming game. NVIDIA says CONTROL Resonant will support path tracing, DLSS 4.5 and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.

Participants must follow NVIDIA’s official GeForce social media accounts and comment with the #RTXPowersPlay tag under a CONTROL Resonant post published this week. NVIDIA is also offering Steam credit through a separate community giveaway.

GeForce Summer Nights continues into the supernatural! This week, we are celebrating the highly anticipated CONTROL Resonant featuring path tracing and DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, bringing Remedy’s surreal world of Dylan Faden to life like never before.

What I found odd and interesting is that NVIDIA previously used GeForce RTX 5090 models for several promotional graphics cards. Its recent giveaways have shifted toward the RTX 5080, including this CONTROL Resonant edition. The company has not explained the change but perhaps the skyrocketing price of 5090 models may have something to do with it.
