GMKtec EVO-X1 Pro Launches With Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, Starting At $1,599 For 64 GB RAM And 1 TB Storage

We have one more Zen 5-based mini PC, but this time it's the Gorgon Point system, delivering high memory and storage capacity.

Popular mini PC maker GMKtec is constantly expanding its catalog with newer mini PCs. The company has introduced its first-ever Gorgon Point mini PC called the EVO-X1 Pro mini PC, which uses the latest Zen 5 Refresh SoC for powerful computing performance. The EVO-X1 Pro utilizes the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 CPU, which offers 12 cores and 24 threads based on the Zen 5 architecture and can boost up to 5.2 GHz.

The mini PC can deliver a good 86 TOPS of AI power, as it features a newer NPU that delivers 55 TOPS of AI performance. Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 carries over the same Radeon 890m integrated graphics as its predecessor, which is sufficient for playing games and handling intensive graphical workloads without a discrete GPU. However, the EVO-X1 Pro has the OCulink interface to add an external graphics card to boost performance easily.

If you pay close attention to its design, it's pretty much identical to the EVO-X1 AI mini PC that uses the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Both are similar in many areas, but the EVO-X1 Pro offers more options when it comes to configuration and connectivity. The mini PC offers GMKtec Claw out of the box, which is the company's proprietary AI ecosystem that supports a wide range of AI agents and local AI applications.

For connectivity, you will find multiple USB Type-A ports at both the rear and front I/O, one USB 4.0 port, 1x OCulink, and a 3.5mm audio jack for an external audio device. This time, users will get the latest WiFi 7 for wireless internet, Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless peripherals, and dual 2.5 G LAN for fast wired internet connectivity.

It appears that GMKtec doesn't have any plans to offer a 32 GB RAM configuration for the mini PC. The EVO-X1 Pro starts at 64 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, but also offers a 64 GB + 2 TB option for enthusiasts. The 64 GB + 1 TB configuration is priced at $1,599, while the one with 2 TB storage will cost $1,769.

The mini PC is available for purchase from the official website and GMKtec is offering a $20 discount, which will end on August 15.
