By setting Grand Theft Auto VI for a November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S , Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive forced every publisher to move their games as far as possible from this date, resulting in some of the most game-packed September and October of recent memory. Previously planned for a generic late 2026 release, GPTRACK50 's Stupid Never Dies now joins a packed October release schedule, launching on the same day as Square Enix 's Final Fantasy Resonance and close to other games with which it will vie for gamers' attention and money.
The independent studio founded by veteran action game developers who worked on CAPCOM 's Devil May Cry , Dragon's Dogma , and Resident Evil series, announced today the game will launch on October 21 (October 22 in some regions), essentially landing on the same day as the Final Fantasy series return to turn-based combat .
While the two games belong to different genres with not a lot of overlap (though they will definitely compete for my own time as I love both action games and RPGs ), Stupid Never Dies will also square off with games with which there is. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse , the return of the KONAMI series after years of long silence, launches a few days earlier, on October 15, while Phantom Blade Zero , which is setting to be one of the best action games of the generation , launches the following week, on October 29 . Some unfortunate coincidences that sadly couldn't be avoided, due to Grand Theft Auto VI almost certainly monopolizing the attention of gamers for weeks.
In addition to confirming the game's release date , GPTRACK50 announced it has entered a publishing partnership with SEGA , who will co-publish Stupid Never Dies . "We are delighted and deeply grateful to SEGA for their publishing partnership and support as we bring the first of many games from GPTRACK50 to players," said Hiroyuki Kobayashi , President of GPTRACK50 . "Stupid Never Dies is an ambitious action game that introduces a number of original gameplay systems, and working with a publisher as experienced as SEGA has been invaluable. Together, our team remains committed to delivering a game that we believe players around the world will enjoy."
The game's first DLC pack , TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack , was also announced today. Also included in the Stupid Never Dies: Glorious Idiot Edition , the pack introduces "a slew of bonkers visual features and new remixes for the game’s background music." An early listen at the game's intense soundtrack is also coming on August 4, when the Opening Theme: Stupid Never Dies (Performed by Davy & Julia) and Ending Theme: Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless (Performed by Davy) will launch on Amazon Music , Apple Music , Spotify , and other major music streaming platforms .
As Stupid Never Dies seems locked into the sort of chaotic mayhem that makes games like Suda 51 's No More Heroes and Romeo is a Dead Man so engaging, I am definitely looking forward to the game. Hopefully, it will have what it takes to emerge in the most packed release window of the generation.
