Not just the team green, but the team red is also ready to raise the GPU prices due to higher memory prices.

We already expected it, and as we can see, the new price hike is inevitable. As soon as NVIDIA raised the GDDR6 and GDDR7-kit prices , AMD has also decided to raise its memory kit prices. However, AMD didn't do it all of a sudden. In fact, it had already planned such a hike a month ago, but didn't implement it due to the fear of losing market share.

As reported by ChannelGate, AMD has decided to implement a new price hike for its GPU-memory kits and has notified its board partners about the new adjustment. The price hike will be implemented next month "uniformly", and the increased costs will be passed down to consumers. This change comes right after NVIDIA decided to increase RTX 50 series prices , which has resulted in a sudden jump in China recently .

AMD currently uses GDDR6 memory on its RX 9000 series and also in previous-gen cards, which means we are likely going to witness a price hike across various GPU lineups. Since the RX 9000 series is the more dominant lineup in the current hardware market, it will be affected more than the other.

ChannelGate says that AMD has decided to raise the GPU-memory kit prices by at least 10%. While NVIDIA's exact price increase remains unknown, it is expected to be in a similar range to maintain pricing parity across the market. For AMD, this will be a difficult situation, given that NVIDIA GPUs are still the best-selling cards in most regions. This is perhaps why AMD decided to delay the price adjustment for a month.

As you may have assumed, this price increment comes as a result of increased memory prices in the consumer segment, which have made many PC hardware devices unaffordable. Some devices are now witnessing a nearly 2X hike in DRAM prices , and vendors have been forced to implement more hikes as absorbing the higher costs is no longer sustainable. However, the outcome won't likely be in favor of AMD or NVIDIA, as with significantly higher prices, customers tend to discourage consumers from making a purchase.
