ASUS Mini PC launches with Ryzen 3 30, renamed 2022 Zen 2 processor
ASUS is preparing a Mini PC VM31 configuration with AMD’s Ryzen 3 30 processor. A Chinese retail image lists the system with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, a 512GB SSD and integrated Radeon 610M graphics.
The VM31 is also available with the Ryzen 5 40 and Athlon Silver 10. ASUS assigns a 15W power setting to all three options. Completed systems can ship with Windows 11 Home or Pro, while ASUS also offers barebone versions without an operating system.
© ASUS Despite belonging to AMD’s Ryzen 10 Series, the Ryzen 3 30 does not use a recent CPU architecture. AMD confirms that it is a 6nm Mendocino processor with four Zen 2 cores, eight threads and clock speeds between 2.4 and 4.1 GHz. It also has 4MB of L3 cache and a 15W default TDP.

These specifications match the Ryzen 3 7320U introduced in September 2022. Both chips use the same Mendocino design, CPU clocks, cache configuration, LPDDR5-5500 memory controller and Radeon 610M graphics with two Compute Units clocked at 1.9 GHz. In practice, Ryzen 3 30 is AMD’s way of selling an old Zen 2 processor again under the Ryzen 10 Series.

The VM31 measures 135 × 115 × 35.8 mm and weighs 330 grams. It supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x-5500 memory and M.2 PCIe storage with listed capacities between 128GB and 512GB. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and 2.5GbE.
ASUS equips the system with seven USB ports, including two USB-C connections with DisplayPort 1.4 output. DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and the USB-C outputs allow the system to drive up to four displays.
These systems appeared at European retailers around February, but I have not seen any reviews of them yet. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 3 30 model was just released in China.
