Steam Deck Remote Play adds HDR and AV1 video streaming

Valve has added HDR and AV1 video streaming support to Steam Deck through its latest Steam Beta Client update. The update was released to the Preview and Beta channels on July 29.
HDR streaming is currently supported only on the Steam Deck OLED , which includes an HDR-capable display. Valve also improved the video color range used by Steam Remote Play.

We have just shipped an updated Steam Client to the Preview/Beta channel.
General
- Fixed additional cases preventing local network game transfers from starting.
Remote Play
- Improved video color range.
- Added support for HDR streaming on Steam Deck OLED.
- Added support for AV1 video streaming when using the experimental SteamRT3 Steam Client.
AV1 streaming requires the experimental SteamRT3 Steam Client. AV1 can provide similar image quality at a lower bitrate than older codecs, depending on the host hardware and network connection.
The update also fixes more cases where local network game transfers failed to start. Valve has not confirmed when these changes will move to the stable Steam Client.
