ASUS launches compact 203mm Radeon RX 9050, XFX adds Swift model
© ASUS/XFX ASUS and XFX have released new Radeon RX 9050 graphics cards in Japan. The DUAL-RX9050-O8G and RX-95SWFT8BE are dual-fan models with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, although ASUS applies a larger factory overclock. Both cards went on sale on July 31.
AMD introduced the Radeon RX 9050 for the Asia-Pacific, Japan and Latin American markets with a suggested e-tail price of $279. The RDNA 4 GPU has 16 Compute Units, 1,024 Stream Processors, 32 AI Accelerators and 16 Ray Accelerators. AMD lists a 1,920 MHz game clock, a 2,600 MHz boost clock and a 92W typical board power.
ASUS Dual boosts up to 2.77 GHz
The ASUS DUAL-RX9050-O8G reaches a 2,260 MHz game clock and 2,760 MHz boost clock by default. Its OC mode increases these speeds to 2,270 MHz and 2,770 MHz. The maximum boost clock is therefore 6.5% above AMD’s standard specification, while the listed game clock is 18.2% higher.
ASUS uses a 203mm-long dual-fan cooler with two Axial-tech fans, a vented backplate and a fan-stop mode for low-power operation. The card measures 203 × 120.2 × 40mm and weighs 434 grams. ASUS Japan describes it as a two-slot card, although the Amazon product description refers to a 2.5-slot design. The expected retail price is ¥54,980, around $344 or €298 before regional pricing differences.
XFX Swift uses AMD reference clocks
The XFX Swift RX-95SWFT8BE follows AMD’s standard 1,330 MHz base, 1,920 MHz game and 2,600 MHz boost clock specifications. XFX lists a 92W TGP and recommends a 450W power supply. Its 2.5-slot cooler measures 234 × 144 × 51mm, making it 31mm longer and 11mm thicker than the ASUS card.
Both cards use 8GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit interface. Each model has two DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, one HDMI 2.1 output and a single 8-pin power connector.
The XFX model has an expected price of ¥52,980, around $332 or €288, making it the cheaper of the two Japanese releases.
