After launching the Gen 6 AIO desktop PCs, Lenovo is back with the Gen 7 desktops, equipped with 120 Hz displays.
Despite launching the ThinkCentre Neo 50a Gen 6 desktops a few weeks ago, Lenovo, which is the world's most popular OEM for PCs, has now launched the Gen 7 series. This is the ThinkCentre Neo 50a 24 Gen 7, which will be available with the latest Intel Core Series 3 processors, jumping straight from the Lunar Lake configuration used in the Gen 6 AIO PCs.
These All-in-One desktop PCs will be powered by either Intel Core 5 320 or the Intel Core 7 350, featuring a 6-core configuration with a 2+4 arrangement. These SKUs are part of the Intel Wildcat Lake series and utilize the same Cougar Cove Performance and Darkmont LP-E cores as the Panther Lake chips. However, these are aimed at entry-level and power-efficient systems like the ThinkCentre Gen 7 desktop systems.
The configuration will include either 16 GB or 32 GB of soldered LPDDR5X memory clocked at 7467 MT/s, and therefore, users won't be able to upgrade memory by themselves. However, they will be able to upgrade the storage as the machine brings dual M.2 slots to support two M.2 SSDs with up to 1 TB each.
The display used for the new lineup is perhaps the most interesting part, as unlike Gen 6, it will be only available in 23.8-inch form-factor, but will be capped at 120 Hz, offering fluid movements. The display will boast an IPS anti-glare panel with 1080p resolution and will feature a 99% sRGB color gamut.
For connectivity, the PCs will feature WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity, and a 1 Gbps LAN port for wired internet connectivity. For peripherals, there will be multiple USB Type-A ports and a single USB Type-C port with 20 Gbps bandwidth on the rear. The left-side I/O will include a single USB-C and a USB-A port for additional connectivity options, along with a 3.5mm audio jack.
