Gigabyte and PowerColor join the Radeon RX 9050 lineup
Gigabyte and PowerColor have introduced their first Radeon RX 9050 graphics cards. Both companies are using 8GB of GDDR6 memory, but Gigabyte applies a large factory overclock while PowerColor stays close to AMD’s reference specifications.
The new models join cards already released or announced by ASRock , ASUS/XFX and Sapphire . AMD is offering the Radeon RX 9050 in Asia-Pacific, Japan and Latin America, with a suggested e-tail price of $279. Neither Gigabyte nor PowerColor has confirmed local pricing or retail availability.
Gigabyte RX 9050 Gaming OC boosts to 2.76 GHz
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9050 Gaming OC 8G features 8GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit interface. Gigabyte sets the game clock to 2,260 MHz and the boost clock to 2,760 MHz. AMD’s reference specifications are 1,920 MHz and 2,600 MHz respectively.
This gives the Gaming OC an 18% higher game clock and a 6% higher boost clock than AMD’s specification. The same clocks are used by the Sapphire Pulse, while the ASUS Dual can reach 2,770 MHz through its optional OC mode. Gigabyte equips its card with a WINDFORCE cooler, a reinforced backplate, fan-stop support and a pass-through section at the end of the heatsink.
PowerColor adds a reference-clocked Reaper model
PowerColor has selected its entry-level Reaper design for the RX 9050. The RX9050 8G-A uses a dual-fan cooler and includes 1,024 Stream Processors, 8GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory and a 128-bit interface. PowerColor lists a 1,920 MHz game clock, matching AMD’s reference specification.
The Radeon RX 9050 is based on the RDNA 4 architecture with 16 Compute Units, 16 Ray Accelerators and 32 AI Accelerators. AMD specifies a 92W typical board power, 288 GB/s of memory bandwidth and a 450W minimum power supply recommendation.
Gigabyte and PowerColor have not announced plans to offer their cards in North America or Europe.
