DICE confirms Battlefield 6 RTX 50 crash fix, weapon attachment bug was one of three triggers

Battlefield 6 RTX 50 crash fix also addresses SOR-300SC attachment bug

DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 6 update 1.4.1.5 fixes the driver crashes reported on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards. The patch launches on August 4 at 8:00 UTC.

We previously covered reports of Battlefield 6 crashing on RTX 50 GPUs when loading maps with large bodies of water. EA later recommended GeForce driver 596.49 as a temporary workaround while the developers investigated the problem.

Three known crash triggers

The full changelog shows that water-heavy maps were only one of the known triggers. Driver crashes could also occur when changing attachments on the SOR-300SC or when using Custom Search.

Please note that crashing issues regarding NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs have been fixed for tomorrow's 1.4.1.5 update.

The SOR-300SC issue suggests that the crash was not limited to map rendering. However, DICE has not explained the underlying technical cause or confirmed whether all three triggers were connected to the same game or driver fault.

STABILITY :
Corrected an issue on PC where certain NVIDIA GPUs could experience a driver crash when changing attachments on the SOR-300SC, using Custom Search, or playing on maps with large bodies of water.

Battlefield Comms separately confirmed that the crashing issues affecting GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs have been fixed in update 1.4.1.5. The main changelog uses broader wording and refers to “certain NVIDIA GPUs,” so older GeForce models may also have been affected.

Smaller gameplay update

Update 1.4.1.5 also fixes deployment delays, duplicate crosshairs, challenge tracking, vehicle behaviour and several map issues. The patch corrects intense flashing near Objective C on Tsuru Reef and fixes synchronisation problems in Portal Battle Royale sessions.

The update notes do not list a new NVIDIA driver as a requirement. Players who previously rolled back their drivers should install the game update before checking whether the workaround is still required.
