Bazzite testing builds add NVIDIA suspend and power-management fixes

Bazzite’s NVIDIA power fixes move through testing branch

Bazzite has added several NVIDIA-specific power-management changes to its testing branch. The updates target dynamic GPU power control and system sleep behavior on PCs using NVIDIA graphics.

New NVIDIA power rules

The changes add dynamic power-management rules and a new NVIDIA power configuration file. Bazzite also ensures that the required NVIDIA services are enabled and adds extra modprobe options for sleep. These changes first appeared in testing build 44.20260801.2. That release used Linux 7.1.5-ogc5.1 and the NVIDIA Open 610.43.03 driver.

The testing branch has already received several kernel updates since then. The latest testing-44.20260804 release uses Linux 7.1.6-ogc2.1 while retaining NVIDIA Open 610.43.03.

Bazzite’s latest testing build adds several NVIDIA power-management fixes.

-Dynamic GPU power rules
-Required NVIDIA services enabled
-New sleep-related modprobe options
-Linux 7.1.5-ogc5.1
-NVIDIA Open 610.43.03

Still limited to testing builds

The commit descriptions suggest that the changes are intended to improve runtime power management, suspend and wake behavior. They may also reduce unnecessary GPU power use on laptops with hybrid graphics, although Bazzite has not published test results confirming battery-life improvements.

These fixes remain part of Bazzite’s pre-release testing branch. Users experiencing NVIDIA suspend or power-management problems may find them useful, but the branch can include unrelated regressions and is not recommended as a replacement for the stable release on production systems.
