Huawei MateBook Pro returns with HarmonyOS 6.1 and higher pricing
© Huawei Huawei has confirmed pricing for the updated MateBook Pro, its 970-gram laptop powered by the company’s Kirin X90 Plus processor. The base configuration with 24GB of memory and a 512GB SSD costs 9,999 yuan, around $1,480 or €1,283.
Huawei will also offer a 24GB and 1TB model for 11,499 yuan, around $1,703 or €1,475. The PaperMatte version with the same memory and storage costs 12,499 yuan, while the top 32GB and 1TB configuration is priced at 13,999 yuan, around $2,073 or €1,796.
Kirin X90 Plus replaces the X90
This is not a Windows laptop. HarmonyOS PC is Huawei’s native operating system, built around the HarmonyOS and OpenHarmony platform rather than Windows or a conventional Linux distribution.
The 2026 MateBook Pro uses the Kirin X90 Plus and ships with HarmonyOS 6.1. Huawei has not published its CPU core configuration, clock speeds or integrated GPU specifications, but the laptop can sustain a claimed 40W performance level using a foam-copper vapor chamber cooler.
The rest of the hardware includes a 14.2-inch OLED touchscreen with a 3120 × 2080 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio and up to 1000 nits of peak brightness. The system carries a 70Wh battery, supports 140W charging and weighs 970 grams. Storage options are now limited to 512GB and 1TB, with no 2TB configuration listed.
Prices increase by up to 40%
The original MateBook Pro launched in 2025 at 7,999 yuan for its 24GB and 512GB configuration, which makes the new entry price 25% higher. The 32GB and 1TB PaperMatte model has increased from 9,999 to 13,999 yuan, a 40% rise, while Huawei has removed the previous 32GB and 2TB option priced at 10,999 yuan.
Preorders opened in China on August 5, with general sales scheduled for August 14. Huawei has not announced pricing or availability outside China and given the HarmoyOS on board I doubt it will ever be released globally.
