NVIDIA RTX Neural Texture Compression adds Windows ARM64 support for RTX Spark

NVIDIA brings its RTX texture compression SDK to Windows ARM64

As spotted by Compusemble, NVIDIA has added Windows 11 ARM64 support to its RTX Neural Texture Compression SDK. NVIDIA names RTX Spark as an example platform in the updated build guide, linking the change to its upcoming Windows on ARM hardware.

RTX Neural Texture Compression uses a small neural network to compress and reconstruct groups of material textures. The SDK can combine up to 16 channels, including albedo, normal, roughness, metalness and ambient occlusion, into one compressed texture set.

The Windows ARM64 build supports DirectX 12, Vulkan and CUDA-based compression. Developers currently need the Windows ARM64 developer preview of CUDA 13.4, Visual Studio 2022 with ARM64 build tools and an NVIDIA R616-series or newer driver.

DLSS and OptiX are not supported on Windows ARM64 and are disabled automatically. The remaining support shows NVIDIA is preparing more of its RTX development software for RTX Spark before the platform launches. Of course, this just seems temporary.

NTC is part of NVIDIA’s broader push into neural rendering through the RTX Kit developer suite. The SDK is available to developers, but NVIDIA has not announced any shipping game with NTC support as of August 2026. Its use is currently limited to NVIDIA samples, demonstrations and developer integration work.
