ASUS ROG Strix XG259QNSR Ace supports 420Hz over DisplayPort
© ASUS/VideoCardz ASUS has introduced the ROG Strix XG259QNSR Ace and XG259QNSR-W Ace gaming monitors. Both use a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a 1920 × 1080 resolution and an overclocked 420Hz refresh rate. The standard model has a black finish, while the W variant is white.
The displays have a quoted 1ms gray-to-gray response time, with a minimum response time of 0.3ms. ASUS also lists VESA AdaptiveSync Display 420Hz, AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility.
420Hz requires DisplayPort
The full 420Hz refresh rate is available through DisplayPort 1.4. The two HDMI 2.1 TMDS ports support up to 240Hz at 1080p . Other connections include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and a headphone output.
The monitors support ELMB Sync , allowing backlight strobing and variable refresh rate to operate together. Variable Overdrive 2.0 adjusts the overdrive setting as the refresh rate changes. ASUS also includes Dynamic Crosshair, Dynamic Shadow Boost and AI Visual through its DisplayWidget Center software.
The Fast IPS panel reaches a typical brightness of 400 nits and carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. ASUS lists 90% DCI-P3 and 115% sRGB coverage, along with an eight-bit color depth and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
Pricing has not been announced
The adjustable stand supports up to 160mm of height adjustment and includes a smaller base intended to reduce desk usage. A 100 × 100mm VESA mount and a 1/4-inch tripod socket are also included.
Both monitors are expected to become available soon. ASUS has not confirmed a release date or pricing for either color. The official product pages are already online, but neither currently shows an ASUS eStore price.
