ASUS ROG Strix XG259QNSR Ace Pushes 420 Hz Through A Fast IPS Panel Built For Pro eSports

The new monitor is available in two color schemes, offering identical specifications and features aimed at eSports enthusiasts.

Popular hardware and peripherals maker ASUS has introduced two new gaming monitors in its monitor lineup, aiming at the mid-range segment. The new monitors are the ROG Strix XG259QNSR Ace and ROG Strix XG259QNSR-W Ace . Both are essentially the same model except that one is available in white and the other one boasts the regular black color scheme.

The ROG Strix XG259QNSR boasts a 24.5-inch panel, featuring a fast IPS panel to deliver a low response time of just 1 ms GtG and as low as 0.3 ms. The display offers 1080p resolution out of the box and can deliver up to 420 Hz in the OC mode. ASUS says the monitor is designed for "professional" eSports gamers since the monitor can display a high refresh rate for buttery smooth fluidity in games.

At 1080p, 420 Hz is going to be incredibly smooth, and with modern hardware, pushing frame rates to and beyond 420 Hz will be totally possible. The monitor's specifications appear decent for the masses and will be particularly beneficial for competitive gamers who want quick frame transitions, smooth visuals, tear-free gameplay, and high visual fidelity.

The XG259QNSR offers up to 115% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3 color spaces for generating vibrant images and also supports HDR, offering a brightness of up to 400 nits for vivid visuals. The monitor will also be available with AI Assistant Technology, providing users with tools such as AI Visual, Dynamic Crosshair, and Dynamic Shadow Boost.

For connectivity, there is a single DP 1.4 port, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, and 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for peripheral connectivity. There is a 3.5mm audio jack as well for more convenience. Ergonomically, the monitor appears great as well, offering various adjustments, including height, pivot, swivel, and tilt.

ASUS hasn't disclosed any information on its availability and pricing yet.
