With its emphasis on fighting against big enemies like Cyclops and Ogres , the original Dragon's Dogma often felt like a sort of cross between an open-world RPG and the Monster Hunter series. Dragon's Dogma 2 followed in the footsteps of its predecessor (perhaps even a bit too much ), delivering the same feel as its predecessor.

Soon, the two CAPCOM series will get closer than ever before on PC thanks to the Alpha launch of the DD2gether mod, which introduces co-op multiplayer ahead of the Dark Arisen expansion on October 9 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The DD2gether mod will soon make its public debut with an early Alpha release, as announced in a new trailer shared on YouTube . As it is an early version of the mod, players should expect some rough edges , but even so, this mod is set to elevate the experience on PC significantly , delivering a feature that fans have been asking for years and CAPCOM only delivered in Japan with Dragon's Dogma Online .

While just having Pawns take over and environment sync in Dragon's Dogma 2 would have been more than enough for some, information found on the mod's Official Discord server suggests this could only be the beginning . In late June, the development team confirmed that Stray Paws can also be controlled, potentially leading the way to more than 4 players co-op and 20-players castle sieges , among other things, once some issues are ironed out.

With DD2gether launching in alpha, there really couldn't be a better time to get into Dragon's Dogma 2 . While the co-op mod will only be available on PC, the console versions of the game have also received significant improvements following the announcement of the Dark Arisen expansion, with more coming later this month. After so many months of silence and speculation , Dragon's Dogma 2 is indeed back in the spotlight, as much as the entire series is, and for all the best reasons.
