Lenovo Reportedly Preps ThinkBook ‘Aeroblade’ So Thin It Sacrificed Deep Key Travel To Hit The Profile

This might be the thinnest laptop we have ever seen, and according to the images, Lenovo made several adjustments to accommodate USB-C ports.

Thin laptops are trending due to the lightweight and compact design that helps carry them around effortlessly. Vendors have been competing against each other in producing thin laptops, and we have dedicated lineups from various OEMs that bring unmatched thin-profile notebooks such as Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkBook/ThinkPad, ASUS ZenBook , HP OmniBook, and similar series.

However, the leaked Lenovo laptop might be the thinnest of all, and probably the thinnest we have ever seen. As spotted by Windows Latest, Lenovo is reportedly preparing a new ThinkBook laptop with the branding "Aeroblade". The outlet says it found the "Aeroblade" naming convention in the market material for the device, but the designation doesn't appear on the laptop.

As you can see, the laptop's base unit appears extremely thin, as if it measures only 3 mm thick. This laptop surely brings the iconic ThinkBook design, but the profile is incredibly thin when compared to the existing ThinkBook devices. ThinkBook is traditionally positioned under ThinkPad and is often aimed at small businesses due to its compact and lightweight design, and the Aeroblade takes it to another level.

From the side, you can see that Lenovo had to make some changes at the back in order to accommodate two USB Type-C ports. That particular section is much thicker compared to the rest of its body. It's really difficult to understand how Lenovo managed to cram all the hardware inside such a thin space, but we can see that the company did make some sacrifices.

Unlike regular ThinkBook laptops, the keys appear to be flat. So, you cannot expect deep keypresses from this one. The rest of the design appears to be identical to the existing ThinkBook laptops, such as a large touchpad and the ThinkBook branding in the bottom-right corner. Other than that, there are no details on the specifications or the company's approach to its cooling solution.
