Prior to NVIDIA’s official announcement of the RTX Spark , the chip named N1X showcased some disappointing single-core and multi-core scores on Geekbench 6, failing to beat Apple’s older-generation M3 Max . Fortunately, a fresh leak shows some improvements from the ARM-based silicon, as it’s managed to narrow the multi-core performance gap with Apple’s 14-core M4 Max.
Two machines with 64GB of unified memory have been spotted on the Geekbench 7 database, with one of the models, “OEMQAJ 766_MIS Product Name DV,” sporting the 20-core CPU, whereas the 18-core version of the RTX Spark is named “OEMQAJ OEMQAJ Product.” The single-core scores of both versions can’t hold a candle to the newest members of the Apple Silicon family, but their multi-core scores are more impressive to discuss.

The 20-core CPU version of the RTX Spark achieved single-core and multi-core scores of 2,570 and 23,126, respectively, while the 18-core version secured scores of 2,541 and 21,776. In comparison, the 14-core version of the M4 Max solidified its single-core position with a score of 3,404 and a multi-core result of 25,957.

Looking at these figures, the more powerful version of the RTX Spark is a measly 11 percent slower than the M4 Max in Geekbench 7’s multi-core result, but that gap increases to a notable 24.5 percent in single-core performance. When comparing the two RTX Spark variants, the 20-core CPU is 1.14 percent faster in single-core performance and 6.2 percent faster in the multi-core category.

Thanks to NVIDIA’s collaboration with MediaTek, the RTX Spark was able to materialize, and while its CPU could have delivered better results, the Blackwell GPU is what the industry is prepping to witness. According to a developer driver for Windows 11 ARM64 , the 18-core and 20-core versions will have different CUDA cores. The slower version’s GPU will sport 5,120 of these cores, while the top-end model will have 6,144 cores.
It’s important to note that while the RTX Spark’s Blackwell GPU sports the same number of CUDA cores as a desktop RTX 5070 or RTX 3080, there’s no confirmation that both graphics chips will perform the same. For that, we’ll have to wait for future benchmarks.
