CS:GO March 2019 source code reportedly leaks online

Source code reportedly belonging to a March 2019 build of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has leaked online. The files began circulating over the weekend, with users describing them as a considerably newer snapshot than the CS:GO code previously available publicly.

Valve has not confirmed the authenticity of the new files. The leak is specifically associated with CS:GO and does not contain the source code for Counter-Strike 2.

This is not the first major CS:GO source code leak. In April 2020, CS:GO and Team Fortress 2 code appeared publicly, prompting concerns about potential exploits and cheating. Valve later confirmed the CS:GO portion was legitimate.

According to Valve, that previous leak came from a limited CS:GO engine depot provided to partners in late 2017, which had originally leaked privately in 2018. Valve said at the time that it found no reason for players to avoid current game builds.

The newly circulated code is reportedly from March 2019 , making it more than a year newer than the depot associated with the previous leak. For now, however, its exact origin and contents have not been confirmed by Valve.
