It's not a surprise seeing the Zen 5 X3D CPU continuing its domination in the market, but the AM4 is still alive due to two processors.
The latest sales stats for the popular German retailer Mindfactory are out. Once again, we see the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D at the top as usual, but it isn't followed by another Zen 5 X3D or non-X3D SKU as the best seller. This is because users are simply opting for more affordable options, which is only possible through opting for the AM4 platform.
It's true that users are reluctant to build new PCs with the DDR4 platform , as we saw in a previous report, but those who already own an AM4 motherboard tend to upgrade their CPUs rather than the entire platform. The July stats for CPU sales on Mindfactory reveal that AMD's AM4 platform is still going strong, thanks to a couple of Zen 3-based CPUs, which include budget and mid-range options.

Despite launching the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th anniversary option, the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 is dominating the charts by selling nearly 560 units in a single month. Ryzen 7 5800X3D, on the other hand, sold 310 units, which is about 9.5% of the total CPU shipments. This is followed by AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D with 230 units shipped, which is actually faster than 9800X3D.

Pricing remains a crucial factor here, as 9800X3D delivers superior value due to being noticeably cheaper. Then we have the 8-core Ryzen 7 5700X, which remains one of the most popular alternatives to Ryzen 5800X3D on the AM4 platform for gamers. We see a similar trend in the US, as per Amazon , but here the Ryzen 5 5500 has secured the top spot in the best-selling list, followed by Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D has been pushed to the 5th spot, but it's still selling better than most Zen 5 CPUs. All in all, we continue to see noticeable fluctuations in the CPU rankings these days. With DDR5 prices skyrocketing and building PCs becoming more expensive, we are likely to see more fluctuations in the coming weeks.
