Following last year's release on PC , PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S , Bethesda has now launched The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 . As the game still doesn't run as well as it should on the other platforms due to the demanding Unreal Engine 5 that handles the remastered visuals, many were worried the Nintendo Switch 2 would not be a good port, but a new comparison video highlights how NVIDIA DLSS is, once again, the system's secret weapon to deliver image quality higher than the Xbox Series S and solid performance, thanks to the lower base resolution.

The comparison video shared by ElAnalistaDeBits puts the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game running side by side with the PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series S and Steam Machine versions to showcase why Oblivion Remastered is yet another excellent port. Although the settings are lower than those of the other versions the Switch 2 version delivers higher quality than the PC version's low settings. The base resolution is also lower than on other consoles, but thanks to NVIDIA DLSS , the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers a sharper image that looks much better than on Xbox Series S , which cannot rely on NVIDIA 's upscaler.

Even in terms of performance, Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 delivers. Although this version of the game still suffers from frame rate drops in open environments, it often manages to hit 30 FPS . Considering how much the game struggles on the other consoles, this is a very impressive achievement for a handheld system that doesn't have the same horsepower as the other current-generation systems.

With doubts about the port's quality dispelled, it will be interesting to see whether Nintendo Switch 2 players enjoying the game on the go will stick with Oblivion Remastered longer than PlayStation 5 players, who bounced rather quickly after getting their nostalgia fix .
