BenQ MOBIUZ EX271QMZ with third-gen QD-OLED panel
BenQ has launched a new MOBIUZ gaming monitor based on a third-generation QD-OLED panel. The EX271QMZ is now available directly from BenQ in the US for $499.99, putting the company into the increasingly competitive $500 OLED monitor segment.
The EX271QMZ is marketed as a 27-inch monitor, although the specification sheet lists the actual panel size as 26.5 inches. It has a 2560×1440 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response time. BenQ claims 99% DCI-P3 coverage and support for 1.07 billion colors.
Third-generation QD-OLED panel
BenQ describes the panel as a third-generation QD-OLED design with a “Tandem Structure.” The company has also added a graphene film for heat dissipation and several OLED protection features, including Pixel Refresh, Idle Dimmer, Logo Dimming and Pixel Shift.
The monitor is rated for 200 nits typical brightness and 400 nits peak HDR brightness. HDR10 is supported, while the native contrast ratio is listed at 1,500,000:1. BenQ also includes its Brightness Flow system, which adjusts pixel brightness in real time to reduce visible brightness changes associated with OLED automatic brightness limiting.
HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 input. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium and has two built-in 2W speakers. Its stand provides 100 mm of height adjustment, tilt and swivel adjustment, while 100×100 mm VESA mounting is also supported.
The BenQ EX271QMZ is listed as available from the company’s US store for $499.99 with a three-year limited warranty. At this price, BenQ is bringing its QD-OLED model below the launch prices seen for many earlier 27-inch 1440p OLED gaming monitors.
