Today, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions announced Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition , which lands on October 1 and includes new content to celebrate the game's first anniversary.
To begin with, the narrative expansion, titled Echoes of Sekigahara , will alternate between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu 's experiences on the mainland, where players will encounter Nagato , a significant figure from Atsu's history who has come to Ezo . In the present timeline, Atsu will investigate a previously undiscovered valley that was once the domain of The Snake and his devoted followers, the Vipers. In the historical segments, players will relive Atsu's involvement in the Battle of Sekigahara and a pivotal moment in her life before her return home to seek vengeance. As expected from an expansion, there will be new adversaries to defeat and an array of new heavy weapons , new armor sets , new dyes, and more to discover.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition also adds Most Wanted , a survival mode that features the studio's unique take on the roguelike genre. Players will undertake bounties to initiate new runs, where defeating enemies will grant them perks and unlock additional playable characters. Much more about Most Wanted will be revealed in the near future, but as showcased in today's trailer, Atsu is proficient with dual katanas, Oyuki is skilled with the kusarigama, and Nagato excels with a yari.
The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is available for $69.99 and, besides the aforementioned expansion and survival mode, includes the base Ghost of Yōtei game and the online co-op mode Ghost of Yōtei Legends . Additionally, the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition has all in-game content that was previously part of the Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe Edition, including the Charm of Hokkyokusei . Those who purchase before September 30 will also receive an early unlock of the Sakai Armor for Atsu on October 1, a nostalgic nod to Jin's family armor from Ghost of Tsushima. Players who already own the base game can obtain Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted by purchasing the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99 .
In addition to the aforementioned new content, the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition features new tracks for Watanabe Mode , which will be accessible throughout the entire game once the mode is activated. Furthermore, it introduces new stamps for photo mode, extra cosmetics for New Game+, and additional Trophies for both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
For those who already own Ghost of Yōtei, even if they do not opt for the Complete Edition upgrade, a new patch scheduled for October 1 will introduce the Beauty of Yōtei mode. This mode provides a screensaver-like experience of the Ezo environments, allowing players to relax at home while capturing stunning images in Photo Mode.
