ASUS Is Optimistic About RTX Spark, Says Initial Quantities “Have Already Been Fully Pre-Ordered By Our Channel Partners” As First Laptops Set To Arrive This Year

NVIDIA’s laptop partners are preparing a drove of products expected to be powered by the RTX Spark for a launch later this year , with ASUS included in the list by offering its ProArt family of notebooks. During the Taiwanese firm’s Q&A session of its latest earnings call, the company stated that it is highly optimistic about the launch, as the market response has exceeded its expectations.

A specific part of ASUS’ Q&A session was noticed by analyst Bryan Ma , and while we have yet to witness the RTX Spark’s GPU capabilities, the company notes that the market response has far exceeded its expectations. The initial quantities it planned have already been fully pre-ordered by its channel partners, so it is continuing to place additional orders and is very optimistic about next year’s sales.

The exact pre-order figures were not mentioned by ASUS during the latest earnings call, but we can anticipate that RTX Spark laptops will become popular as they address various pain points for the masses. Discussing just one instance, NVIDIA’s most powerful consumer GPU, the RTX 5090 , sports 32GB of VRAM, which is more than sufficient for cranking up textures and other visuals in the most demanding games.

However, when it comes to running local AI models, the graphics card is VRAM-constrained when you get a little too carried away. The RTX Spark resolves this issue by supporting up to 128GB of LPDDR5X unified memory, which NVIDIA claims is enough to run 120B parameter models with a context of up to one million. Creative professionals can also leverage the extra RAM to render incredibly detailed scenes, while gamers are catered to by the inclusion of the Blackwell GPU, which NVIDIA claims can run titles at 100FPS at 1440p resolution.

We have reported that graphically intensive games like Alan Wake 2 and PRAGMATA can be seen running fluidly on RTX Spark laptops , and with NVIDIA releasing driver support for its latest SoC, performance improvements are likely guaranteed. In just a single launch, the graphics chip manufacturer has managed to seize multiple markets, so it will be interesting to see how Qualcomm, Apple, and AMD respond to the launch.

However, if there were ever a weak link in the RTX Spark, it would be its 20-core CPU that was developed in collaboration with MediaTek. In Geekbench 7, both the 18-core and 20-core configurations are slower than the M4 Max , but we will revisit these numbers once the first commercial wave of laptops hits multiple markets.
