ASUS Googlebook CX9406 leaks with Panther Lake and up to 64GB RAM
ASUS is preparing its first Googlebook laptop, known as the CX9406 and internally tracked as “Lapis.” Digital Citizen has published a complete set of press renders.
The CX9406 is listed with a 14-inch touchscreen and Intel Core Ultra 5 325 or Core Ultra 7 355 processors. Both belong to Intel’s Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3 family. The configurations currently tracked use 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5X memory, with Intel Xe3 graphics featuring four Xe cores and a 47 TOPS NPU. These specifications have not yet been confirmed by ASUS.

The new renders show a thin dark-gray chassis with Google’s multi-color Glowbar on the lid. ASUS is reportedly using an Ultra-Ceramic Light Alloy, while an earlier iF Design listing claimed a weight below 1 kg. That listing also claimed the material was 34% lighter and 13% stronger, although the page contained unfinished text and has since been removed.

This is another Googlebook using Intel Panther Lake. We reported yesterday that Acer’s Googlebook 14 GP714-91N has already appeared at a European retailer with the Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB of memory and a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display. Earlier information also linked Acer’s system with Core Ultra 7 355 configurations and up to 32GB of memory.
Google confirmed ASUS, Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo as Googlebook hardware partners in May, with the first systems planned for fall 2026. ASUS has not announced pricing, storage configurations or final display specifications for the CX9406.
