Eight-year-old AMD B450 chipset gets new GIGABYTE motherboards
I do not think we are supposed to tell you about new releases using such an old chipsets, but this is 2026 and nothing makes sense anymore. GIGABYTE has quietly added two new AM4 motherboards based on AMD’s B450 chipset. The B450M D3HP and B450M D3HP WIFI6E are new motherboard models rather than revisions of older GIGABYTE products. Their appearance comes eight years after AMD announced the B450 chipset in 2018.
B450 gets some newer motherboard features
© Gigabyte Both Micro-ATX boards use a 4+2-phase digital VRM and four DDR4 DIMM slots. GIGABYTE officially lists support for Ryzen 3000, Ryzen 4000 and Ryzen 5000 processors. Storage includes two M.2 slots, with the CPU-connected slot supporting PCIe 3.0 x4 and the chipset-connected slot limited to PCIe 2.0 x2. There are also four SATA 6Gb/s ports.
Despite using B450, the D3HP includes several features more commonly seen on newer GIGABYTE boards. These include Q-Flash Plus, a front USB-C 5Gb/s header, Smart Fan 6 and three addressable RGB headers. Display outputs include one DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI 2.0b ports, while networking is limited to Realtek Gigabit Ethernet.
Wi-Fi 6E on an eight-year-old chipset
The B450M D3HP WIFI6E uses the same basic platform but adds Wi-Fi 6E alongside Gigabit Ethernet. GIGABYTE lists wireless speeds of up to 2.4Gbps and support for the 6 GHz band. This gives buyers access to a newer wireless standard while retaining the older AM4 platform and PCIe 3.0 connectivity.
GIGABYTE has not announced pricing or detailed regional availability for either board. I simply spotted an update on their website and a quick check with regulatory sites and BIOS info confirms these are new boards.
