RTX 5090 appears retired from giveaway duty
© NVIDIA NVIDIA has announced another GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition giveaway as part of its Summer of RTX campaign. This time, the card features a custom Gears of War: E-Day wrap, with users asked to comment with the #RTXPowersPlay hashtag for a chance to win.
The design itself follows NVIDIA’s now-familiar formula. It is a standard RTX 5080 Founders Edition with game artwork applied to the exterior rather than a mechanically modified graphics card. NVIDIA previously confirmed that the Gears of War: E-Day model uses a custom artwork wrap.

This is also another RTX 5080 joining NVIDIA’s recent custom-card giveaways. The company revealed an 007 First Light RTX 5080 on July 20 and a CONTROL Resonant version on July 27. However, this isn’t the first Gears of War: E-Day RTX 5080 Edition yet.
© NVIDIA RTX 5090 cards appear to have become much less common in these promotions. NVIDIA was still giving away a custom Resident Evil Requiem RTX 5090 in February, but its recent game-themed cards have shifted toward the RTX 5080.
With the RTX 5090 carrying a $1,999 MSRP before current retail premiums, perhaps even NVIDIA considers it too expensive for regular giveaway duty.
