Googlebook laptops expand to Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite processors
Google is developing more Arm-based Googlebook laptops using Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors. New Chromium development activity has revealed three additional boards called Annite, Pic and Meru, expanding the Snapdragon-powered “Bluey” family to at least five known designs.
The Bluey platform is not limited to one Snapdragon processor. According to code examined by GbookHub, the standard Bluey configuration uses the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. A separate BlueyH configuration uses Qualcomm’s Hamoa platform, which corresponds to Snapdragon X Elite.
Snapdragon X Plus for Annite and Pic
Annite and Pic specifically reference the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. Both were created from the Mica board code, but their motherboard clock was reduced from 100 MHz to 75 MHz. The code also suggests they retain some Mica features, including a fingerprint reader and no USB-A port.
© GBookHub Quartz and Mica are the faster designs currently associated with Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 . GbookHub says Geekbench results already link both boards to this processor. Mica has previously been associated with a Dell system, while Quartz is linked to the HP Googlebook 14c.
More Googlebook hardware takes shape
GbookHub previously reported that development activity points to HP or Lenovo as possible manufacturers, although neither has been confirmed.This adds another processor platform to the growing Googlebook lineup.
We recently reported on ASUS preparing the Intel Panther Lake-powered Googlebook CX9406 “Lapis,” while Acer is also developing a Panther Lake Googlebook 14. Google has previously confirmed that Googlebook hardware will span processors from Intel, Qualcomm and MediaTek.
