NVIDIA is working with LG to bring next-gen Humanoids to life to accelerate the "Physical AI" space forward.
As Physical AI starts entering the high gears, NVIDIA is making sure that they are working with key partners to deploy next-gen robotics and automotive solutions. Today, NVIDIA announced three key collaborations with LG, with the highlights including:
- LG will build its next-generation bipedal humanoid using NVIDIA Isaac GR00T, NVIDIA Jetson Thor, and NVIDIA Halos for Robotics safety, with a planned debut at CES 2027.
- LG will build AI factory reference sites using NVIDIA DSX and NVIDIA Vera Rubin, as well as develop a next-generation AI-defined vehicle platform built on NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion.
- LG will build an autonomous-driving platform for next-generation AI-defined vehicles on NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion.
The announcement was made at NVIDIA's HQ in Santa Clara, California, where CEO Jensen Huang and LG CEO Kwang Ko Moo signed an MoU, entering the phase of full execution across robotics, AI factories, and mobility.
"The defining opportunity of physical AI is to give every machine the ability to understand the real world, reason and act safely alongside people — reshaping everyday life from the home and factory floor to the road," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. "Building on years of collaboration, LG and NVIDIA are combining LG's leadership in product engineering and manufacturing with NVIDIA technology to accelerate the next era of robots, AI factories and autonomous vehicles."
On the robotics front, NVIDIA and LG will work on brand-new robotics solutions ranging from humanoids and bipedal humanoids to data systems that will be used to train and improve these robots.
LG announced that it is working on a next-gen Bipedal humanoid which is going to be unveiled publicly in the first quarter of 2027. This robot is powered by NVIDIA's Jetson Thor and leverages NVIDIA Isaac GR00T, NVIDIA Halos, and its Open Humanoid Foundation model. LG will also unveil its CLOiD robot, a wheel-based offering, which will be used in the company's washing machine manufacturing line in Tennessee. These robots will first be validated in a real-world production environment before official rollout in factories.
Another big announcement is that LG will be building an AI factory reference site powered by the NVIDIA Vera Rubin solution and based on the NVIDIA DSX AI factory architecture. This AI factory is expected in 2027, and another 80MW-scale AI Factory in Cheonan is expected in the first half of 2028 for Physical AI and Robotics.
Lastly, LG is bringing NVIDIA's DRIVE Hyperion to its AI-Defined Vehicles. Hyperion will be used to power the vehicle's infotainment system and other automotive software capabilities. With these announcements, both NVIDIA & LG are advancing the AI spectrum, both in the Physical and automotive space.
