For those with an HyperX OMEN Gaming Laptop 16-ap1xxx (HP board 8F06) powered by AMD Ryzen 7/9 processors, a new quirk is merged in time for Linux 7.2 to allow the internal microphone to be used under Linux. Without this quirk the internal digital microphone array has been unusable under Linux for the HP HyperX OMEN Gaming Laptop 16-ap1xxx.
There is also a quirk fix for the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 headset to deal with it not working correctly on recent kernels with mixer controls being disabled.
Also squeezing in for Linux 7.2 via this sound pull is enabling HDMI-In capture support for upcoming Intel Nova Lake platforms. This HDMI-In capture support on Intel Nova Lake is ready after the necessary IDs were added to the Intel and Sound Open Firmware driver code.
The full list of this week's sound patches can be found via this pull request that already has been merged ahead of Linux 7.2 final.
