Well, one modder has enabled his Nubia Z70 Ultra to deliver sustained performance while running Counter-Strike 2 at above 100FPS, opening a floodgate of opportunities as far as PC-centric competitive shooters go.
As for how the Nubia Z70 Ultra successfully managed to fire up Counter-Strike 2, Redditor “ntsow” has previously demonstrated that his dual-CPU cooler modification allows the Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone to play Windows games like The Witcher 3 at 1080p on Ultra settings with 99 percent utilization. With thermals being the least concerning bit about this mod now, the Redditor decided to fire up Counter-Strike 2
In one of the areas, the performance was between 110FPS and 140FPS at low settings, and since CS2 is a competitive shooter, having a higher and stable framerate takes precedence over improved visuals. Earlier, the Redditor revealed that the Android smartphone was successfully hooked up to an external monitor, just in case you’re wondering why Counter-Strike 2 is being shown on a bigger display.
While there are competitive shooters on Android like Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG: Battlegrounds, Counter-Strike 2 has a massive audience that’s exclusively locked to the PC platform. Also, keep in mind that this mod was attempted on the older Snapdragon 8 Elite, and with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro already 20 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in AnTuTu, the sky is the limit to what these SoCs can accomplish, provided they’re cooled properly.
