AOC revises 4K 240Hz AG276UZ with eye-comfort circular polarization

AOC has updated its AGON PRO AG276UZ gaming monitor with circular polarization technology, but it has kept the existing product name and model number. The 27-inch Fast IPS monitor still supports its dual-mode configuration with 3840×2160 at 240 Hz or 1920×1080 at 480 Hz.
The change is visible on AOC’s Hong Kong store. The current listing specifically calls the AG276UZ a “Circular Polarized Gaming Monitor” and lists it at HK$4,099. An older version of the same product page made no reference to circular polarization and listed the monitor at HK$3,699.
Same AG276UZ model, different panel treatment
AOC has not changed the core display specifications. The AG276UZ uses a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with 450-nit brightness, a 1 ms GtG response time and 0.3 ms MPRT. Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 2.1 and two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
© AOC BOE, which supplies this type of display technology, says circularly polarized light is intended to make screen illumination closer to natural light and reduce visual fatigue compared with conventional linearly polarized LCD output. The manufacturer has previously used this technology in other displays marketed for eye comfort.
Availability may depend on region
Interestingly, AOC’s Australian AG276UZ page continues to list the same 4K 240 Hz and FHD 480 Hz monitor without mentioning circular polarization. This suggests AOC may be introducing the updated panel on a regional basis while retaining the AG276UZ model number rather than creating a separate SKU. Anyway, if you care about this feature, be sure to check with local AOC website for clarity.

© AOC AOC has not announced US or European pricing for the circular-polarized version. NVIDIA also lists the AG276UZ as a 27-inch 4K 240 Hz G-SYNC Compatible monitor, although its database does not distinguish between the different AG276UZ revisions.
