Noctua Doesn’t Want To Spend Resources On Cooler Beautification; Says It Prioritizes Quality And Performance

The company explains why it doesn't treat RGB as one of its priorities when it comes to its cooling products.

Popular cooler manufacturer Noctua has revealed its plans for the product design when it comes to aesthetics. Noctua remains one of the handful of cooler makers that haven't released an RGB-equipped cooling product despite remaining in the industry for more than two decades. From fans to air coolers, and now AIO cooling solutions, the company has it all for enthusiast-grade cooling.

However, the company has yet to introduce fancy cooler designs, that is now a trend in the market. While most cooler manufacturers have multiple RGB offerings, Noctua says it doesn't prioritize RGB for its products. In an interview with Club386, the company's chief product officer, Jakob Dellinger, confirmed that it has no plans for RGB lighting in its products, at least for now.

It’s less a dogmatic branding decision; it’s more just like the general direction of where we put our resources in terms of engineering,

- Jakob Dellinger

While Dellinger didn't exclude the possibility of deploying RGB lighting on Noctua products, it's likely that the company will keep releasing non-RGB products in the future. As per Dellinger's comments, it's clear that the company wants to prioritize quality and performance over aesthetics, and it doesn't care whether everyone likes or dislikes the brown-beige color schemes.

We like catering to a specific audience who value quietness, performance, and quality, rather than those who might put their priority on visuals. But that’s not to say we’re above anything like that [RGB]. It’s just our focus.

- Jakob Dellinger

Dellinger confirmed that they don't want to put resources into beautifying their products, and therefore, RGB products, white CPU coolers, or coolers with LCD blocks are unlikely in the future. The company says it prioritizes "quietness, performance, and quality" over visuals, and it's their "focus" at the moment. Therefore, if you were waiting for RGB AIO coolers or coolers with displays, then it's not going to happen anytime soon.
