Framework upgrades Laptop 12 with Intel Wildcat Lake and Wi-Fi 7

Framework has updated its 12.2-inch convertible Laptop 12 with Intel Core Series 3 processors. The new models replace the 13th Gen Core options used by the original version and add Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7 and faster DDR5 memory . Pre-orders are now open, with the first batch scheduled to ship in October.
The processor choices include the Core 3 304, Core 5 320 and Core 7 350. These are Intel Wildcat Lake processors manufactured on Intel 18A. The Core 3 304 has one Cougar Cove P-core and four Darkmont low-power E-cores, while the Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 have two P-cores and four LP E-cores. Maximum boost clocks range from 4.3 GHz to 4.8 GHz.
Graphics are also based on the Xe3 architecture, although these processors do not receive Intel Arc branding. The Core 3 304 has one Xe3 core, while the Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 have two. Framework configures the processors at 15W sustained power with up to 35W boost.

The two rear Expansion Card slots now support Thunderbolt 4, including connections to eGPUs or two 4K 60 Hz displays. The two front slots support USB 3.2 Gen 2, while all four can still accept USB Power Delivery input. Memory support has increased to DDR5-6400, with one replaceable SO-DIMM supporting up to 64GB.
