Alan Wake 2 adds native AMD FSR 4 and Frame Generation support

Alan Wake 2 now supports AMD FSR 4 upscaling

Remedy has released Alan Wake 2 update 1.2.10 for PC, adding native support for AMD FSR 4. The technology is automatically enabled on supported GPUs when players select FSR Super Resolution in the graphics menu. The patch was released on August 18.

The update also adds AMD FSR Frame Generation as a separate graphics option on supported hardware. This gives Radeon users an officially integrated path for both upscaling and frame generation without relying on third-party tools or replacing game files.

FSR 4 now supports Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 GPUs

AMD expanded FSR 4.1 upscaling support to Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards in June 2026. The current FSR SDK supports FSR Upscaling 4.1.1 on both Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 discrete GPUs. AMD’s ML-based FSR Frame Generation 4 remains intended for Radeon RX 9000 Series hardware, with an analytical fallback available on other supported GPUs.

Alan Wake 2 previously received a large NVIDIA-focused graphics update in January 2025. That patch added DLSS 4, Transformer models for Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction, Multi Frame Generation for RTX 50 Series GPUs and RTX Mega Geometry. It is late, but the new 1.2.10 release gives AMD users native access to the newer FSR implementation directly through the game.

Remedy also changed two ray-tracing features in this release. Opacity Micromaps and Shader Execution Reordering now use Microsoft’s Agility SDK, allowing them to work across multiple GPU vendors. The patch also fixes remaining audio synchronization problems during cinematics and includes several gameplay and stability fixes.
