NVIDIA GeForce 615.xx spotted ahead of Gamescom and imminent DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction

NVIDIA appears to have published information about its next GeForce Game Ready Driver before the actual driver was ready. An official NVIDIA forum thread lists a GeForce GRD 615.xx release dated August 13, but six days later there is still no 615-series driver available from NVIDIA’s driver download page. The latest public Game Ready Driver remains version 610.88 from July 28.
The unfinished forum post says the new driver is optimized for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam , both with DLSS 4.5 support. However, the exact driver version is still shown as the generic “615.xx.” The sections for fixed gaming and general bugs are empty, while the release notes also use the placeholder 615.xx version number. It looks like a new driver release notes are being prepared by NVIDIA but it was accidentally shared ahead of scheudle.

GeForce 615 may have missed its planned August 13 release
August 13 was not a random date. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launched that day, and NVIDIA published a separate article confirming its DLSS 4.5 support. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is scheduled for August 27. This suggests NVIDIA may originally have planned the R615 Game Ready release around the first game before the driver was postponed or its forum post went live too early. NVIDIA has not explained why the driver itself is missing.
The timing now puts the possible R615 rollout close to Gamescom 2026 . Opening Night Live takes place on August 25, followed by Gamescom from August 26 through August 30 in Cologne. NVIDIA has traditionally used Gamescom for GeForce software and RTX game announcements, including DLSS updates in previous years, although the company has not confirmed that the 615 driver will be tied to this year’s event.
DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is also due in August
The company announced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction at Computex and said it would become available in August for all GeForce RTX GPUs . The new second-generation transformer model has 35% more compute capability and processes 20% more parameters while targeting similar performance to the existing Ray Reconstruction model.
