New shader preloading for PC

Modern Warfare 4 will also introduce shader preloading on PC. The system can prepare shaders before the game launches, reducing the shader processing required after entering the game. Battle.net will support the feature from the first beta installation, while Steam will still require a one-time shader compilation on the first launch.

Shader preloading will take place before the game launches

The Modern Warfare 4 Beta launches on August 21 at 11:00 AM PT following the Call of Duty: NEXT broadcast. Early Access runs until August 25, followed by the Open Beta from August 28 through September 1. Activision notes that these specifications apply specifically to the beta and may differ from the requirements for the final game.
