Samsung showcased its latest OLED panel that can hit 300 Hz on gaming laptops, bringing smoother visuals.
Samsung has been quite aggressive in OLED production for years, but at the same time, it has been rolling out newer and more premium OLED technology for the mainstream market. At the IMID 2026 display conference in Busan, South Korea, the company showcased some of its new products for enthusiasts, including an interesting OLED display for gaming laptops.
Unlike most OLED gaming laptops, this new Samsung OLED display can reach a staggering 300 Hz refresh rate, enabling buttery smooth visuals on laptops. At 300 Hz, things appear extremely smooth on the screen, making it the ideal choice for competitive gaming, particularly for those who are serious about their performance in eSports titles.

This new panel stands out not just because of its high refresh rate, but also because of the combination of high resolution and high refresh rate. This new OLED panel boasts a 2.5K resolution, which produces sharper images, and will also be the first "self-emissive" laptop display to achieve a 300 Hz refresh rate.
Samsung also showcased two of its new high-end gaming monitor panels at the event: a 31.5" QD-OLED with 4K resolution, and a 34-inch 21:9 QD-OLED panel, both featuring a 360 Hz refresh rate. However, its 16-inch 300 Hz OLED laptop panel remains a more interesting product since gaming laptops have started adopting OLED technology, particularly the high-end notebooks that aim for an immersive gaming experience.

Samsung Display didn't provide details on when the 16-inch 2.5K 300 Hz OLED panel will enter mass production or when we can expect such a panel in upcoming laptops. For now, the panel remains a showcase product at IMID 2026.
